As an independent academic archive, Egypt Muse operates primarily on an appointment basis to ensure that delicate historical papers and rare physical manuscripts remain protected. However, our digitizing rooms, reading tables, and gallery reference spaces are open to accredited art researchers, curators, and writers during regular weekly schedules.
Regular Reading Room Hours
Our main reading and catalog room in Cairo provides desks, high-speed scanners, and access to physical gallery catalogs that have not yet been digitized online. Access is limited to 10 scholars per day.

Archiving & Processing Shifts
Our digitization laboratory processes new collections on Wednesdays and Saturdays. During these processing shifts, the physical archive rooms are closed to the public to prevent light degradation and dust exposure to delicate physical paintings, paper slides, and ink documents.
Academic Group Tours
Curator-led group visits for university classes and independent research groups are organized on Monday and Thursday mornings. These tours provide a structured overview of the archive's physical indexing systems, highlighting key modernist discoveries. Groups must consist of 5 to 15 individuals, and applications must be filed at least 14 days in advance.
